Our historic hotel lies in the heart of Carona, only 10 minutes from Lugano. This 200-year-old patrician estate with a lot of history, is encircled by an attractive artisans' village, where Hermann Hesse spent many precious hours. The Villa Carona is a small island of well-being right on the doorstep of Lugano.

This quiet, family-friendly, and family owned 40-bed Silence and Swiss Historic hotel occupies a very peaceful spot which will guarantee you relaxation and tranquillity. Our 18 rooms are individually decorated and furnished with antique pieces. The suites and double rooms with interconnecting doors are especially suited to family lodging.

You'll find our gardens to be a small Mediterranean paradise, where you can breakfast in the open air, sunbathe on our loungers, sit in the shade or under the vine pergola, play table tennis, or dine in our restaurant. The is also a children's swimming pool.

Dine to your heart's content in our restaurant «Villa Carona» or on the garden terrace restaurant «Monte Generoso», and let the day draw to a close sipping on a fine Ticinese Merlot.

Uniquely situated between Monte San Salvatore and Monte Arbostora (822m), the town of Carona is home to approximately 600 inhabitants. There are endless possibilities in Carona and the surrounding region to suit every possible taste. For the nature lover and the sports enthusiast the area offers everything the heart desires. Visit the «San Grato» botanical gardens, with 30 hectares covered in rhododendrons and azaleas, or stroll through the beautiful woodland trails under the shade of chestnut trees. There are ample jogging paths for the fitness fanatic, a large public swimming pool, two new tennis courts with a fantastic view, a modern football pitch and a great mountain bike trail.

For shopping or greater cultural experiences, concerts, museums or even business, the town of Lugano lies beneath, in just 10 minutes by car or with the Post Bus.
